Meet Kristin Walls

For Kristin Walls, leading Angels in Disguise is more than a career opportunity. It’s a mission that is deeply personal and close to her heart.

Kristin spent 15 years working as a television meteorologist, building a career rooted in communication, storytelling, and connecting with communities. After more than a decade in Louisville, she has developed meaningful relationships throughout the area and a passion for bringing people together to make a difference.

But it was the birth of her daughter, Ava, who has Down syndrome, that gave Kristin an entirely new perspective on life, love, and purpose.

Ava has opened Kristin’s eyes to the beauty of celebrating differences, the importance of inclusion, and the incredible potential within every individual with Down syndrome. When Ava underwent open-heart surgery at just four months old, Kristin also experienced firsthand the emotional challenges families can face when their child needs critical medical care.

Those experiences ignited a passion for advocating for individuals with Down syndrome and supporting families navigating similar journeys.

As Executive Director of Angels in Disguise, Kristin is committed to building on the organization’s legacy while expanding its reach and impact. Her vision includes strengthening community partnerships, growing fundraising opportunities, increasing awareness, and ensuring more families have access to the financial support they need through adoption grants, heart surgery assistance, and educational scholarships.

Kristin believes that every individual with Down syndrome deserves to be celebrated, included, and given opportunities to thrive.

Above all, she hopes to use her voice, professional experience, and personal journey to make a lasting difference for families like hers.

“Ava changed the way I see the world. She has taught me that our differences are something to celebrate, and I want every family raising a child with Down syndrome to know they are supported, valued, and never alone.”
